JD, I think if he violates his probation he’ll get 4 years in jail.
Now we get to the part where everyone moves onto another story and Chris Brown is back on MTV or whatever the kids like these days, enjoying all the success in the world.

This whole case, and the public reaction has horrified me. It really shone a spotlight on our nation’s view of domestic violence. How could ANYONE ‘deserve’ or ‘provoke’ the kind of violence that Chris Brown dealt out on Rhianna? And the fact that young women have been defending CB is sickening.

Like those above, I hope the asshole breaks his terms and has to spend time in jail, being someone else’s punching bag. I doubt it, but hey, one can hope.

I’m confused about his sentence and don’t know about Cali law…he is sentenced to 180 days (prison or hard labor) plus probation…but is there more jail time hanging over his head of he breaks probation? Or they just up his surveillance? Honestly the length of probation and the imposition of “hard labor” (what does that mean practically? is that like community service or what?) make this a fairly severe sentence compared to other first time offenders I have seen, and to me indicates that the evidence, like Becky is saying was very bad for Mr. Brown. Maybe he’s lucky they didn’t charge it up as aggravated assault! As long as he didn’t use a gun he could qualify for a first time offender diversion program (offering classes, counseling, community service, etc. if all terms complied with, case is dropped after) in my jurisdiction. To my sensibilities it doesn’t seem inappropriate for a first time offender but I realize I’m an outlier on sentencing issues.

And because I’m a mean bitch who hates men who beat up on women, my fingers are crossed that you do something stupid and violate your probation so you wind up in jail where you belong.

Oh, no doubt he will. Look at OJ.

Reading this little bit of the officers report only intensified my horror over this incident. I wish more details could be revealed, so all those saying Rhianna must have “done something” to warrant such a brutal attack could STFU. Oh well….

Dear Mr. Geragos,

Chris Brown is not a kid. He is an adult. As I’m sure you know, calling him a kid is a nice way to make him seem like some gullible, guileless soul who fell prey to nefarious influences. That’s not at all the case.
