I am from Minnesota, and I’d still ship myself through the mail to hug him. I can’t tell you how proud I am to call him my Senator. Not just for the reason listed here, but all that he has accomplished since he finally won the right to his senate seat.

For those whose Senators are Behaving Badly, have them look up Andrea Gibson, Blue Blanket on Youtube. Or just send them the lyrics. It’s about what it is like to be a rape survivor. I don’t expect them to ‘hear’ but ya never know.

I totally got my blood pressure up to seriously bad levels last night with this news, because MY asswipe senators voted against it. The excitement that should have been felt regarding this law, was overshadowed for me by the knowledge that my representatives did the very opposite of what I would have liked them to do, stand up for the victim.

As a sexual assault advocate, I am horrified and angry almost beyond words. I’m still looking for the right words to express my disgust in a letter to my Senators, letting them know that their vote will affect mine, come election time.
