Yeah, because posing for Playboy has totally resulted in equal pay for equal work (well, if your work consists of getting naked for dudes), proportionate political representation, access to abortion, effective domestic violence laws, and increased rape convictions. Thanks, Joanna- I’m going to go charge lunch to the credit card in my name and then head to the house that I own, which would not have been possible without trailblazing women such as yourself taking off your clothes. Please, tell Alice Paul, Gloria Steinem, and bell hooks how they, too, can contribute to the movement to improve women’s lives.

Hey! We talked about that quote (the Peggy Phelan one) in my History of Design class just a couple of weeks ago!

That’s what I love about my prof for that class – he encourages us to think about things in feminist terms. Especially in classes like the ones he teaches – design theory – we tackle a lot of advertising, and it makes me soooooo happy that he is so aware of the implications of the use of women in advertising
