So I’ll be in the UK next month, vacationing and enjoying the benefits of the weak pound. (Don’t judge! When the dollar was weak, I put a lot of Brit friends up on my sofa so they could enjoy New York on the cheap.) If any of you gentle readers want to meet me for a pint somewhere in Londontown on Saturday, June 5—preferably on the early side, as I’ll still be jet-lagged—we can have a Harpy Happy Hour.
E-mail me at beckysharper@harpyness.com…

Ah, jealous! I would certainly meet you for a pint if I was in London, but I’ve never even been across the pond. Have fun!
Ohhh. I move to London on July 9 and would love to meet you, but I’m guessing you won’t still be around by then?
Wow, you get to travel a lot! (I’m jealous.) Have fun!
If you get the chance, hop on a train up to Manchester and I’llmeet you for a pint (or two). Manchester is a far superior city!!!
I have a feeling quite a few of the London Jezebels will be thrilled to buy you a pint of two!
Becky, I would love to meet you! Hurrah!
Ah, what a shame, if you had waited until autumn I’d be back near to London and could have come! As it is, I’m on the other side of the Channel…
Bah I judge but only because I am living in the US and paid in pounds, curse you British economy, curse you.
Have a lovely time otherwise, what do you have planned?
@emilyanne: Yes, but didn’t you live here when the exchange rate was £1=$2? Those were the years I couldn’t afford to buy anything in London except wine gums and hobnobs. So quit judging!
I’m going to visit friends in the countryside, do a little work (unfortch) and take care of my friend’s cat—I get 10 days in a beautiful mews house in exchange for petsitting.
Becky – yes but i was eight months pregnant had just arrived and wasn’t bloody working. I’m doomed i tell you doomed, by the time I started earning real cash in the UK, the pound had collapsed.
@ emilyanne Everything is actually twice the price in London! (Compared to the rest of England, that is)
I won’t be there then, but while you’re there don’t forget to check out Camden Lock; it should be mad in summer!
peenerbambina- I am moving to Manchester from NYC in September to attend grad school. Anything I need to know? Excited!
Hmm… I’m in London now, but only until Sunday.
