@meshinda: I think you mean Charlie Sheen. Check out the list of people “banned in Britain” that Lindsay just linked to—there’s no shortage of white folks on it. And while I usually don’t believe in comparing incidents of domestic violence—as all d.v. is serious—Chris Brown’s assault on Rihanna was much more brutal, and he was charged with a more serious felony than Charlie Sheen. I just mention that because there may be some kind of legal yardstick that the Home Office uses when denying visas.

Below is a link to a article about 16 people who were banned publicly from Britain last year as a result of their behavior. They tend to be more extreme (socially anyways) then Chris Brown, but I wanted to point this out in response to the race being an issue comment. I hope that had nothing to do with it!

I think that there is a race component of this that is being ignored. My question is would the british goverment bar Martin Sheen? I also has a history of domestic violence and his most recent ‘alleged’ assault on his wife was around the same time as chris brown’s abuse of rihanna. I’m not saying I disagree with the decision I disagree that it’s not an across the board rule. Regardless of race.
