Phelps and clan descended on my home city once when I was out of town to protest a mega-church whose pastor had gone on the conservative talk shows to pitch his new book to the masses. Apparently, (though I never read it) he advises good Christians ™ to lay off teh gay and abortion issue because it makes them out to be party poopers and they can’t save souls or effectively pass those collection plates to more folks if they keep harping on those issues. Phelps protested the church after that because the pastor didn’t take a hard enough stance on the ‘mos. I don’t think their was a counter protest that time.

I would loooooovvvveeee it if people would hold these creative counter protests everywhere these bigots set up camp. AND I would love to see their donor list. I once watched a news special about the family and they travel all over because they receive donations and people actually buy their disgusting merchandise. I would like to know that list and have it publicly displayed.
