Harpies, thank you for poetry saturdays.

I didn’t study english lit or poetry, yet I find each Saturday’s poem a regular classroom where I get to sit and reflect (and sometimes write my thoughts and do further research), on poems and poets who write beautiful prose, who are also women (mostly), and write about things that I care about.

Yes! I love this poem.

It reminds me of my experience trying to get Plan B. I had to go to three pharmacies to get it. At the first two, I was very loudly told it was against their morals, and they didn’t carry it. By middle-aged male pharmacists. At the third, I got a young woman. Braced for another rejection, I asked for Plan B. She smiled, asked for my ID, and money, then quietly placed it in a bag. This happened in NYC. In TriBeCa, near my place of employment. Women deserve better indeed.
