The hypocrisy is what gets me. Thou shall not kill. There are no exceptions. Killing Dr. Tiller because he was ‘killing babies’ makes no more sense than the original premise. That so many want to hold onto outmoded thoughts and dogma is often very sad and frustrating. The rest of us are in the 21st Century — most of them have not left the 8th Century.

I support the right of women to make choices and have all available options for family planning and sexual health. This includes abortion services. The medical staff that go to ensuring this have my gratitude and thanks.

I had an abortion, in 2007, in a hospital in the Canadian city I lived in at the time. Every time reproductive rights are threatened in American politics, and every time I hear of the threats and intimidation American doctors and workers must endure to provide this vital service, I am grateful that these brave men and women are providing this needed procedure to my American sisters.
